last year i was planning to go on a trip, but it unfortunately {and looking back for good reason} fell through.
this year though, i was ready. january i began searching and praying for God to point me to Uganda and to make a way, like i knew He could and would.
my oh my did He deliver!
on June 3 I will board an airplane to Uganda. the place where my heart has been for so many years and now i will get to be there physically. how.sweet.it.is.
I am THRILLED with the team I am going with and have actually been dreaming and trying to go with them for 2 years. it is so God.
so God that my school approved me to miss so many days of school.
so God that my parents are allowing their 16 year old daughter to board a plane to Africa.
so God that He has perfectly orchestrated a trip.
so God that everything continues to fall in to place
and the list goes on.
Please keep me and the team in your prayers in the days to come as we prepare and go to Uganda.
I still have SO MUCH to do to prepare and a long, long way to go at that with fundraising, packing, school, etc. yet I feel God encouraging me and simply telling me to 'Be still and Know'
I cannot wait to see how things play out and how God blesses our team. it is going to be amazing i know that much.
hey guys,
guess what?
I'M GOING TO UGANDA!!!
Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
-1 Chronicles 16:8
"The Slums! He has made a way for me to go exactly where I have been dreaming." Not something you often hear people say...I LOVE IT! I am so glad He has made a way and I will be praying for you and the team! I am encouraged by your faith and you heart to serve.

ReplyDeleteMy dear Ashton, what a lovely treat to come upon your blog today and to meet a young lady so in love with the Savior at such a tender age. Bless you as you radiate for Him.
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of me at your age--I always said I was going to have a huge house and fill it with kids that nobody wanted--well, I didn't get the huge house, but I did fill my home for many years with the children no one really wanted--25 in all over the years. I adopted several of them. I have had a rich fulfilling life in so many ways.
May I take the liberty of giving you a little advice. Remember always, when you plan ahead to add, Lord willing. I've lived almost 80 years and have learned to include Lord willing before making any plans.
I am book marking your blog. I shall be interested in following your journey as you walk toward adulthood.
I know you thrill your parents' hearts as you have chosen to walk so boldly for the Lord.
You are an adorable family--I had a tiny Korean daughter many years ago who will soon be 50!! and I have next door neighbor 5 year old twins from China--I just love them. They like to visit with me.
Take care. June will soon be here.
I knew a couple that were missionaries in Uganda in the 1970s. The loved it.
